Several months after we started dating again Michele introduced me to Tony who is still my best friend to this day. Tony was a freshman at the time and was showing a great interest in working out Michele had told me. Larry and I had not been training together very much at this point and I needed a training partner. Tony did not drive so I agreed to pick him up every day after work and drive him to the gym after I went home and got a shower. We became great friends very quickly and Tony was my best man when Michele and I got married several years later.

So it began that I would pick Tony up every day we trained and drove him to Speedy’s and home again. Tony was a very strong kid and a very quick study as well. I taught him what I had learned over the last seven years under John and Gary’s tutelage simply by doing the workouts with him. It was a great advantage for Tony because he avoided all the mistakes I had made. My first several years were all trial and error. More error than trial! This sped things up for him greatly and it showed in his physique very quickly. He put on lean mass and gained strength very quickly those first six months training with me. Years later Tony told me I was sometimes a dick in how I went about things with him. I was surprised he felt this way but in looking back he was right about that. I was hard on him sometimes and kind of a cocky dick at times as well. But to Toney’s credit he took it and persevered through it all!

The evening portion of a bodybuilding competition is really more for the families and for the show promoter to make their money. There is no judging in the evening except for the overall winners of each class. Also at night you do your posing routine to music and it is ninety seconds long while in the morning it is sixty seconds without music. On the subject of music I had picked the theme from Conan the Barbarian. This is comical to me in looking back now because I feel a person’s music should match their personality and their physique. Now perhaps I had a fiery competitive sprit inside but at a whopping one hundred thirty six pounds in no way shape or form did my music parallel my physique! The powerful classical piece just did not match the package I was going to bring to the stage. However ignorance is bliss so I was happy as a clam at the time about the song.

At around six thirty the teenagers were told to start pumping up. So the whole oil and pump up process began yet again. I walked over to the backstage curtain and peaked out into the auditorium. I was shocked at how many people were out there. Holy shit it was simply packed with spectators. The morning had maybe a hundred people or so but now it was standing room only, I was simply stunned and quite nervous again.
They told my class to line up. As the show is ran in numerical order and as the promoter had said I was indeed number one and I would indeed start the show that night. The master of ceremony had information cards on each competitor and would announce your name, where you lived, trained and anyone you wanted to thank for their support. I had thanked John and Gary for their support and with that the announcer said “now let’s give it for our first competitor of the evening, Jeff Storch!” I walked out looking confident but inside I was shaking in my boots. My music started and I began going through the poses I had practiced a hundred times at least. At first the crowd sat silent and then from the darkness a baritone voice boomed “Come on now people, this young dude has busted his ass for this; let’s give it up for him!” The crowd seemed to be woke up by this and began to holler and cheer for me. I felt a huge cheese smile spread across my face and I think that is the very moment I was bitten by the bodybuilding bug. I completed my routine and was followed by the twelve other competitors in my class. After the last guy in our class excited the stage the expeditor told us to stand by and listen for our numbers to see if we were one of the three guys getting a trophy. Ten of us would be going home empty handed. Being the youngest in the show I had resigned myself I was probably one of the ones going home with nothing. It was at this point I heard the master of ceremony say, “In third place in the thirteen through seventeen division, number one, Jeff Storch!”I just stood there completely stunned! The guys in my class were all saying “GO, GO, GO man, you are in third place, you get a trophy!” I walked out on stage in a daze. A pretty trophy girl showed me where to stand, put my trophy down in front of me, put a medal around my neck and even gave me a kiss on the cheek! This is totally freaking awesome I thought to myself! The bug had really sunk its teeth into me at that point. This was going to be a long, long road!

The final week I was told I needed to apply some fake tan. Back then all we had was QT and Sudden Tan. Both products were made by the same company and both had an orange hue to it but the sudden tan was not as bad and was browner. The stuff made you stink to high heaven. Really strong fake tan smell compared to today’s stuff and when you put two bottles of it on you smell really bad. So I stank but I was dark, I for sure had a bit of an Umpa Lumpa look to me though. My step mom asked me if I had been washing my hands in between coats. I said no and asked why. Well I soon found out why. The palms of my hands were black as coal. I went to the store that night and when I went to get my change for the items I purchased upon seeing my palm she recoiled back. I laughed and told her it was a fake tan mishap, she laughed her ass off and told me she thought I had some weird skin disease! Then she gave me my change.

My take on Needtobuildmuscle.com RS Transaderm.
I have just completed an 8 week cycle of RS Transaderm and I must say I really do think the stuff worked, I am always a little skeptical of transdermal delivery systems but this one I think is the legit deal. I do think that the product would work better on a slightly older person like me because for one my dermis is a bit thinner than a younger persons and also the first ingredient DHEA is more effective in a person 40 and up due to naturally declining levels of this hormone as we age. Another master hormone Pregnelone will also help out a person who is older as well with naturally declining testosterone levels. The Chrysin works well it seems in a transdermal formula as well. It was proven that Chrysin does not make it through the digestive track well taken orally but if this is bypassed it works quite well as an anti-estrogen. 7,8 Benzoflavone has been clinically proven to improve healthy male hormone profiles and sexual function. In our world of bodybuilding, that means it increases testosterone secretion by the testes. Reservatrol is a powerful anti-oxidant and effective in reducing LDL lipid concentrations in the blood.
Now for how it worked on me: Every morning after showering I would rub 5 pumps of the product on my chest. It would absorb so quickly it was almost strange. I have never had any lotion or muscle rub or anything absorb so quickly. I have been half assed at best with my training, diet and even my HRT. Yes I will add I am on HRT. I have been using 250mgs of a test blend every 9 days. I have not been using anti-Estrogens or Anti-aromatase drugs and I have been leaning out as well as when I did. My strength is great as is my libido. I am not sure where my lipid profile stands at this point as I have not had it tested since starting the product. I am currently weighing in at 230# at around 7% range. The way I am eating and training I should not be doing this well. The RS Transaderm really seems to be doing the trick for me. I will defiantly re order the product and I am going to start recommending the product to my clients especially the over 40 year old crowd.

One day I decided to have a small treat, or should I say cheat really I had a medium sized apple and I was going to put a small amount of peanut butter on it. This was my first diet cheat and I did not know that peanut butter is the devil for people on a competition diet. It all began as planned, small dabs of peanut butter on the apple, growing larger and larger and then the apple was gone…but the peanut butter however was not. I dug in with a vengeance! Nothing to drink and I am just eating this stuff like the world depended on me doing it. I finally got control of myself, well actually the three-quarter pound of chunky peanut butter sitting in my gut like a stone did! Then I freaked out! I cheated! I will run it off. Now when you consider that the amount of peanut butter I had just engulfed encompassed two-thousand two-hundred thirty-seven calories this was not in the realm of possibilities. I would have had to three-quarter of a marathon! But off I went to burn off that peanut butter! Now it was about ninety plus degrees outside and I was sweating like a dog with this lump of goo in my belly rolling around. Yes you guessed it…I started heaving really, really bad on the side of the road. If you have never vomited up three-quarters of a pound of peanut butter I would defiantly advise against trying it. It does not come up easy or smooth! That shit took work to get out! But it was gone and my cheat was nullified. So I jogged on home relieved. Now before you go off thinking this was some sort of the beginning of an eating disorder it is the only time anything like that happened during a diet. Now I have puked a thousand times from training. To me that is normal if you are training the way you should. But I never binged and purged again like that. I only cheated two other times in 26 years of competing.
